Once you have opened Helix, you can find the version number by selecting About Helix from the Apple menu.
• What is the Helix Data icon?
A temporary file Helix creates in a new Collection, before it has been saved for the first time, and discards when you quit or save the Collection. This icon will appear on the Finder desktop if there has been a system failure that did not allow you to Quit Helix and/or Save the Collection, and looks like a normal Collection. It is of no use and should be discarded.
You may also notice an icon named “Recover_ (Collection name).” This will only be visible if you experienced a failure in a previously saved Collection, and had not yet saved your new work after opening the Collection. When it looks like a set of baggage, it is not usable, and Helix will usually discard it when you next open the same Collection. If it looks like a “St. Bernard in the snow,” this indicates that a Save was interrupted. Helix will use this icon to restore your Collection to a usable state, possibly recovering and restoring the work you were attempting to save. You should not discard (or move) this icon unless its associated Collection is removed or discarded.
